Baking workshops for carers

East Sussex carers can join free, online Baking for Wellbeing Workshops during May. You will find out how to make everyday breads, light cakes and bakes and pastry, learning and baking along with Robin. All of the workshops are online using Zoom.

The friendly sessions are interactive with a combination of demonstration and bake-along activities, so everyone can watch, join in and have fun! When you book your place, you will be emailed the recipes, instructions and Zoom details prior to the sessions.

Baking for Wellbeing Workshop timetable

Everyday Bread – Monday 10th May 2021, 11am-1pm.

You will learn fundamental bread making techniques including how to make loaf tins, free standing shaped breads, rolls and flatbreads. This interactive workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers and online using Zoom. You can book your place here. There is a £1.67 booking fee which is refundable when you attend the session. However it is fine to waive the booking fee if you prefer, you can contact Robin to book your place directly by emailing: office@communitychef.org.uk.

Light Cakes and Bakes – Monday 17th May, 11am-1pm.

Join Robin and baker, Timothy Blair, for a delectable workshop on low fat and sugar baking. You will learn how to make Italian apple cake, honey jacks and cinnamon cookies. This interactive workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers and online using Zoom. You can book your place here. There is a £1.67 booking fee which is refundable when you attend the session. Pastry Workshop – Monday 24th May, 11am-1pm. 

Join Robin and baker, Timothy Blair, for an introductory pastry making workshop. They will teach you how to make an all-purpose, lower fat pastry and demonstrate essential pastry-making skills. You will use this pastry to make delicious spring vegetable turnovers and custard tarts. This interactive workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers and online using Zoom. You can book your place here. There is a £1.67 booking fee which is refundable when you attend the session. However it is fine to waive the booking fee if you prefer, you can contact Robin to book your place directly by emailing: office@communitychef.org.uk.
