Care for the Carers held its Annual General Meeting today at the Cooden Beach Hotel.
The meeting was well attended, and those present included Tamsin Peart (Strategic Commissioning Manager for Carers – East Sussex County Council) and Councillor Bill Bentley (lead member for Adult Social Care – East Sussex County Council).
Two posts on the board of trustees were up for re-election, and Mark Rowe and Claire Szanto were both successfully re-elected. Former trustee and founder member Fari Rassekh, who stood down earlier this year, was thanked for her service to the organisation, and presented with a token of Care for the Carers’ appreciation for her years of hard work.
Short talks through the event included presentations on volunteering (Carole Gregory, Volunteer Coordinator), a summary of the accounts (Mark Rowe, Treasurer), the Time to Talk Programme (Mick Green, Counsellor Coordinator), the Carer-Friendly Communities pilot (Teresa Flower, Strategic Partnerships Manager) and the ongoing review of membership and engagement (Teresa Flower, standing in for Beryl Cross). The event also included a number of information stands which provided more information about a number of key elements of the organisation.
Attendees were given opportunities to ask questions and give feedback on a range of topics. A number of members chose engage with this process, which helps Care for the Carers staff to improve the services on offer to carers across the county.
Thank you to all who attended. If you were unable to attend, or would like a copy of the presentation and Annual Review, they can be downloaded using the links below.
